How To Become A Christian

Have you ever asked yourself "What will happen to me when I die?" Do you ever think about your eternal destination? Do you think about what kind of lifestyle you are currently living and know that things need to change? There is a hope and peace you can have to all these questions. It is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died on a cross for our sins -- that through His grace we might be saved and spend an eternity with Him. It is a free gift which he offers us if we are willing to accept it. Will you receive Him? If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life please read on and find out how to receive Him today.

First of all you need to understand that Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship. It is a relationship with the Creator of the Universe on a personal level. There is a simple plan to be in this intimate relationship with Him and become a Christian.

You must recognize that you need to be one. 1 John 5:12- "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

You must realize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23- "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God."

You must recognize that your sin separates you from God. Romans 6:23-"For the wages of sin is death." Revelation 20:15-"If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

Jesus Christ died for you sins. Romans 5:8-"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

You cannot save yourself from your sin. Ephesians 2:8-"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

You must then do three things to receive that gift: First, repent of (turn away from) your sin. Acts 3:19-"Repent, then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."

Second, believe that Christ died for your sins. John 3:18-"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already…"

Third, confess Jesus Christ as you Lord, which means putting him first in your life. Romans 10:9-"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

If this is what you want to do with all of your heart, pray this prayer right now:

Dear God,

I am a sinner. I need Jesus to save me. I will turn away from my sin. I want to make Jesus, Lord of my life right now.

        Thank you God. Amen.

If you have just prayed this prayer, it is important as your next step as a believer, to follow the Lord (Matthew 3:13-17) in Baptism and start attending a Bible believing/preaching church. Acts 2:41-"Those who accepted his message were baptized…"

If you have just accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we would like to hear from you. If you have more questions about Jesus, salvation, baptism, or other Biblical inferences, please contact:
